Semi-Final Championship – Senior Ladies

Team:             Senior Ladies – Semi-final Championship

Date:               24th August

Venue:            Milltown GAA

Result:            Milltown (0 – 16) v Ballymore Eustace (2 – 06)

Ballymore Eustace senior ladies travelled to Milltown on August 24th to take on Milltown in the semi-final of the championship. Ballymore were expecting a battle after they drew the last time they met.

Milltown were first on the board by scoring three points within five minutes of play. Ballymore were quick to react by scoring four points consecutively.  Milltown followed with another point before Ballymore scored a goal putting them three points ahead. Milltown responded with two more points before Ballymore scored the final point before half time giving Ballymore a two-point lead.

Second half Milltown came out fighting putting two points over the bar within minutes.  Ballymore replied with a point but Milltown then started to stretch their lead by scoring five more points. With about ten minutes to go Ballymore’s Tara Winder scored a blinder of a goal within minutes of stepping onto the pitch, leaving Milltown one point ahead.  Unfortunately, Milltown started to pull away and managed to put another three points over. Ballymore had a few more attempts but it wasn’t to be their night.  The girls gave it their all but Milltown proved too strong for them in the end.

A big thank you to management for their time during the year and to all the girls well done for getting to the semi-final and for all the effort you put into training.
