Ballymore-Eustace v Castlemitchell – Minor girls Final Division 5 in Hawkfield

FT: BME (3 – 07) Castlemitchell (3 – 05)

A huge congratulations to the Minor girls who rounded off the season with a superb win against Castlemitchell after winning every game in their division.

Castlemitchell were first to settle and get the first score of the match before BME equalised with a point.  The teams repeated the above again before BME scored one more point before the first water break.

Second quarter BME were back out and scored a point before Castlemitchell responded with a goal.  The BME girls scored another two points before Castlemitchell conceded a penalty.  BME did not waste the opportunity and put one in the back of the net.  However, BME were not finished yet and scored one more goal before the half time whistle and giving them a 7-point lead.

Castlemitchell came out fighting after half time and scored a goal and two points before they conceded another penalty and BME swiftly put another in the net.

The last 15 was tense! BME scored a point before the girls were back up the pitch to make a great save.  Castlemitchell kept up this pressure on the backline and scored another (1 – 01) reducing BME’s lead to two points, a dangerous position.  The BME girls kept their nerve and held off Castlemitchell to the final whistle giving BME the title for the second year running. Impressive!!
