Semi – final for the minor girls was held in Ballymore against Cappagh. The last time the girls met BME got the win by a small margin of two points, another battle was expected today. BME were first to score with a point before Cappagh were back up the pitch with a goal. Next score was to be a penalty for BME, the ball met the bar before it was buried into the back of the net. BME rounded off the first quarter with one more point.
Second quarter BME came out strong and scored four consecutive points before Cappagh came back with (1 – 01) giving BME a two-point lead going into half time.
Cappagh came out fighting after half time and scored a goal and point and kept the BME girls off the scoreboard. Cappagh turned the tables on BME and converted their two-point deficit to a two-point lead.
The last 15 was nail biting, the BME girls put 6 points thar an trasnán giving them 4-point lead. In the dying seconds BME got a goal before the referee blew the final whistle earning the girls their well-deserved position in the final. Fantastic performance girls!!
Final to be held next Saturday 27th November in Hawkfield, time to be confirmed. The very best of luck to the girls and management.
