Allenwood V’s BME U12’s 17th July 2021

Allenwood 8.13 Ballymore 3.3

Ballymore travelled to Allenwood for their final league game in the U12’s Seanie Barber cup competition. With a number of key players missing this was always going to be a challenge for this young team.
Allenwood started strong and were 1.3 to no score up as the first quarter drew to a close. However, a quick breakout move from Ballymore led to them scoring a close range goal just before the first water break to get them back in the game.

The second quarter saw Ballymore continuing to fight as hard as they could but Allenwood extended their lead further to go in ahead by 6 points at half time.

The beginning of the third quarter saw Allenwood take control of the game but the visitors clawed their way back in and were still within touching distance of Allenwood at the last water break. Unfortunately the fourth quarter was a bridge too far for Ballymore. With Allenwood bringing on fresh legs and no substitutes available for Ballymore along with the high temperatures the hosts dominated the rest of the game racking up numerous scores to finish winning by 8.13 to 3.3.
Congratulations to Allenwood on a great performance.

The young Ballymore team can hold their heads high though, despite the difficult circumstances they never gave up.
