Division 4 League – Ladies
FT: Kill (5 – 08) Ballymore-Eustace (3 – 12)
Ballymore travelled to Kill last night for the first round of the league. It was Kill who put the first score over the bar but BME kept the scoreboard ticking over. A goal from Kill put them ahead by two points at the first water break. The two teams kept each other at bay in the second quarter, until BME conceded a penalty. Kill didn’t hesitate to score another goal and point in quick succession. BME put two scores between the posts in reply and kept the pressure on Kill until the half-time whistle with Kill (3 – 03) BME (0 – 05).
Ballymore got the first score of the second-half with a penalty from Dawn Murray. Kill put another 3 points over the bar, before brilliant ball work from our forwards put a ball in the back of Kill’s net. Both teams gave it everything to the end, but luck was not on BME’s side when a goal opportunity hit the crossbar in the final minutes. It was a fantastic match to watch and brilliant to see the girls playing once again.
Well done to the ladies and thanks to Kill for a great game.
