Junior B Championship Ladies – Round 7
FT: Round Towers (3 – 09) Ballymore – Eustace (2 – 11)
Going into the last round of the championship both teams were looking for the win, regardless of their position in the group.
Round Towers were first on the board with a point before Steph got one over for Ballymore. Next point was for Ballymore’s Laura Gallagher before Round Tower’s second point. Laura rounded off the first quarter with another point.
Round Towers came out after the first water break and scored a goal in the first couple of minutes. Another point from the two girls brought the two teams’ level at half time.
Ballymore were straight into the third quarter with great ball work between Steph and Aibhe to score a point in the first minute. Towers scored another two before Laura brought them level again. Towers scored one more before a great goal from Amy Mahon and a final point from Aibhe going into the last quarter.
Heading into the final fifteen, Ballymore had a three-point lead, which Towers levelled up fairly quickly with a goal. The girls were to score another (1 – 04), which gave them a three-point lead again with about 7 minutes to go. However, Towers were to score their last point before their final score of the night, a goal, giving them a point lead and the win.
