Really positive start to the new campaign with BME recording a narrow loss to Carbury. When these teams met last year it was a thoroughly one sided affair in favour of Carbury. It was excellent for BME to be able experiment with a combination of U13/U12/U11. 

Both teams exchanged scores throughout the first half until the Carbury goal came which left them leading by 2pts at half time. More of the same in the second half and it was a late Aidan Grace goal which gave BME a slimmer of hope but alas it was too late at that stage. 

Emmet O Connor put in a hard shift in midfield covering every blade of grass & Martin Horan continuously tidied up in the backs. 

Captain for the day was Michael Fisher.
