BME 6.3 Eadestown 4.9
Ballymore hosted Eadestown for their fifth game in the U12 league. Ballymore got off to a great start with an early goal and two minutes later it got even better when they hit the back of the net again. Eadestown regrouped and put over a couple of points before adding a goal of their own. Ballymore got another point to extend their lead but Eadestown had built up a head of steam and scored another goal and five points before Ballymore responded with a goal to leave the half time score at 3.1 to 2.7.
The second half started off with Ballymore going on the attack but the Eadestown defence dealt with the threat. Eadestown were pushing forward too but the Ballymore defence managed to stop them taking their scores. It was the final quarter before the next score arrived with Eadestown snatching a goal after a good passing move. Ballymore were now six points down but the goal seemed to push them on with the home team managing to score a goal and a point in quick succession. Eadestown were struggling to find momentum and, after an excellent passing move, Ballymore scored another goal. Another point and a goal from what seemed like an impossible angle put Ballymore five points up with time running out. However, Eadestown managed to find an extra gear and scored a point and a goal in quick succession. With only a minute or so to go Eadestown managed to put an equalising point over the bar.
The game finished in a draw which was probably a fair result to both teams but Ballymore will be very happy with their performance against one of the top teams in their league.
