Kilcock v Ballymore – Eustace – Division 5 Minor girls

FT: Kilcock (2 – 09) Ballymore – Eustace (3 – 09)

The semi-final was held in Kilcock on Monday evening. With a spot in the final up for grabs both teams were raring to go and it was a tense match from the start. Kilcock were first to play the ball and straight into the BME half but great pressure from the backs kept them back and allowed BME to put the first 4 scores on the board. Kilcock retaliated with a point and a goal before both teams settled, trading scores back and forth until the half-time whistle. Half-time Score: Kilcock (2 – 02) BME (2 – 06).

BME started the second half with a point and a goal before Kilcock answered with four points in quick succession. It was a fast-paced game and both backlines did well in shutting down the opposition’s chances although it was hard to keep the two teams off the scoreboard. The last ten minutes were nerve-racking! BME scored their last two points of the match before Kilcock started their comeback. Immense pressure was imposed on the BME backline with Kilcock get another three points leaving one score in it. One last attempt on goal was thankfully denied by the green and gold, earning them their place in the final. Final Score: Kilcock (2 – 09) BME (3 – 09).

Well done to the girls on their win and Good Luck to them in the final! Match will be held on Saturday, 9th December at 15:00 in Hawkfield.

Chuir cúlaí BME brú ollmhór orthu ag coinnéail iad amach, ag tabhairt an seans do BME an chéád ceithre scór a chur ar an scórchlár. D’fhreagair CC le cúilín agus cúl roimh a réitigh an dá fhoireann iad féin, ag trádáil scór go dtí go séideadh an fheadóg leath ama. Scór Leath Ama: Cill Choca (2 – 02) BME (2 – 06).

Thosaigh BME an dara leath leis an liathróid thar an trasnán agus i gcúl na heangaí roimh a bhfuair CC ceithre chúilín mar fhreagra. Lean an cluiche ar aghaidh ag luas gasta. Rinne na cúlaithe ón dá fhoireann sár-iarracht ag cur stop le deiseanna an foireann eile ach bhí sé deacair iad a choimead as an scórchlár. Chuir BME dhá liathróid thar an trasnán agus fuair CC na trí chúilín deireanach. Scór Deiridh: Cill Choca (2 – 09) BME (3 – 09).
