U12’s: BME V Kildangan 11/08/23

Ballymore hosted Kildangan for their third game in the Coiste na nÓg league. With the wind at their backs Ballymore were on the front foot for the first half and converting scores. Despite this Kildangan pressed hard and they got a couple of nice points before they had a goal ruled out for a foul on the keeper. Shortly afterwards Ballymore managed to find the back of the net. Kildangan did manage to get a couple of points before the half ended leaving Ballymore with a four point advantage.

Half time BME: 1.5 Kildangan: 0.4

The second half saw Kildangan take the initiative, also aided by the wind. Ballymore were struggling with Kildangan keeping the scoreboard ticking over and the game was level with ten minutes to go. It was backs to the wall stuff from Ballymore for those ten minutes with their back line and goal keeper preventing at least four nailed on goal scoring opportunities. The final whistle sounded much to the relief of the home side with Kildangan probably regretting not opting to tap one of their opportunities over the bar instead of shooting for goal.
