Athy V Ballymore Eustace – Minors girls league Division 5

FT: Athy (3 – 04) Ballymore-Eustace (5 – 10)

Minor girls were away to Athy for the first round of the league last Thursday.  Athy started the game with a point but BME were quick to respond putting two points over the bar.  Both teams repeated the above, leaving the scoreboard Athy (0 – 02) to BME (0 – 04) at the first water break.

The second quarter saw the first goal of the game. BME scored two goals to Athy’s one goal, rounding off half time Athy (1 – 02) BME (2 – 04).

BME girls swiftly took the lead by scoring (2 – 04) to Athy’s one goal giving them a 12-point lead going into the last quarter.

Athy came out fighting for the last 15 by putting away (1 – 02) but BME proved to be the stronger team on the night, matching Athy’s (1 – 02), bringing the final score Athy (3 – 04) to BME (5 – 10).  Great game!
