Round 2 of the Junior B Championship was away in Celbridge on Aug 4th. Ballymore had a very positive start by scoring 5 points to one before the first water break. Aibhe started the ball rolling with the first point. Yasmin and Amy Horan had a great one/two getting another two before a sweet pass from Tara to Laura notched up a further point. The girls rounded off the first 15 mins with great ball work between Beth and Laura before Amy Horan put it over the bar.
Second ¼ Celbridge came back strong by getting a goal within minutes. Ballymore responded with a point, before Celbridge scored another goal before half time. Celbridge (2 – 01) BME (0 – 06).
Third ¼ Ballymore scored a point from a free, before Celbridge retaliated, a very quick turnaround should have given them a goal only for a great save from Dawn Murray. Celbridge started to pull away after this by scoring another four points with fifteen minutes to go.
Another two points gave Celbridge a 6-point lead, however, a great goal from Shannon Browne brought Ballymore back in the game. With only 5 minutes left to play Ballymore tried to pull it back but Celbridge wrapped up the game with one last point to finish Celbridge (2 – 08) Ballymore (1 – 07).
