Date:     29th February

Venue:  Ballymore-Eustace GAA Club

Result:  Ballymore-Eustace (0 – 05) Clane (5 – 05)

Hard luck to the Ballymore-Eustace u16 girls who played against Clane in their first match of the League, which was rescheduled due to bad weather. Ballymore won the toss to play with the wind in the first-half, but Clane didn’t let that stop them by putting away a goal and four points before the girls found their feet. Ballymore worked hard to push Clane back and put 5 points over the bar before Clane got a goal in the final minute before the half-time whistle.  Clane (2 – 04) to Ballymore-Eustace (0 – 05).

Clane had the advantage of the wind in the 2nd half. The Ballymore girls kept them at bay for the first 16 minutes by keeping a tight defence, however the Clane girls were determined to win. The Ballymore girls played their hearts out but Clane proved to be the stronger team on the day. Special mention to Grace Cowley who made so many fantastic saves in goals leaving the final score Clane (5 – 05) Ballymore Eustace (0 – 05).

Next match is away on the 7th March in Ellistown.
