Tom Cross JFC Final 2019

Ballymore Eustace County Champions 2019

Preparations for this day started 13th January and with the new Management team of Paul Breen Darren Behan, Shane Breen and selectors Mike Broderick and Johnny Murphy, the management team knew they had something special. The team put in the work and certainly reaped the rewards. Over the last 10 months this team have bonded and have become a tightly knit crew. Over the next few weeks the team will be back to preparations for the Leinster Junior Football Championship and we wish them the very best of luck.

Apart from the battle of two teams on County Final day, its also about the supporters and families, who like the players, are wrecked with nerves, anxiously waiting for the game to start and the game to finish! There was great support from the sideline, young and old to shout on the lads. A special day for the Barrett family as the three lads, Shane Mark and Tadhg, all started and all three made their mark on the game.

The game itself started with a bang. Shane Barrett hitting the back of the net in the first few minutes of the game. Quickly after that Captain Stephen Dwyer started his tally with a point over the bar. Niall Murphy was next to get a score for BME, sending the ball over the bar. At the halftime mark BME 1-05, Robertstown 1-03.

The restart saw BME to finish off what they set out to do. Robertstown were not going to go down easy. Three fantastic saves from Man of the Match, Stephen Foley, Jake Meehan and Mark Barrett kept Robertstown at bay. Final score BME 3-12 Robertstown 1-08.
