St. Edwards got off to a perfect start in this Coiste na nÓg league game against Ballymore getting a goal within a minute of the throw in. Ballymore came back with two points and a goal before St. Edwards got a second goal. The hosts kept the scoreboard ticking over with four more points before the visitors got two points of their own. A Ballymore goal saw them go in with a healthy lead. Half time Ballymore 2.7 to 2.2 for St. Edwards.
The second half saw St. Edwards go on the attack but a number of shots on goal were thwarted by resolute defending when going for points was probably the better option. As the game went on Ballymore were able to counter attack effectively and got two goals on the break. St. Edwards managed to pull two points back and, after Ballymore scored another point, the visitors got a goal. However, Ballymore were pushing hard and got a fifth goal and then finished the scoring with a point.
