Ballymore Eustace v Sarfields Tuesday 6th August 2019
We headed over to Kilcullen on Tuesday 6th August to face Sarsfield in the Quarter Final of the Championship. At the whistle, the heavens opened with a heavy shower that came and went and the sun appeared. Sarfields were first to get the scoring going but BME lads kept them on their toes. It was a match that didn’t disappoint. BME had only 16 players to their disposal and after Tadhg Grace, reluctantly, coming off, due to a hand injury, Eoin O’Sullivan, stepped up to the mark. It was neck and neck with the scoring and only a few minutes left on the clock. Then we were reduced to 14 men! At full time the scores were even! So we had 10 x2 of extra time. Our BME lads NEVER gave up. Stellar performances from Tadhg Grace, Shane Kavanagh, Darragh Meade and Ben Noone. It was a brilliant match and every BME supporter there, was so proud to be one. At the final whistle Sarfields have the win by only two points. A bitter sweet ending for our Junior team. The final score Sarsfields 2-16 ; Ballymore Eustace 3-11 .
